What is it? Emmaus Ministries at OLV is a way for Catholic Christians to grow deeper in understanding and living the Catholic faith. It does this by offering Mini-Retreats, Formation Series, and Small Group Resources. What are the Mini-Retreats? One Saturday each month, OLV will host a Mini-Retreat from 10am-2pm. This simple time set aside is a chance to connect more deeply with God and one another. There will be various topics; some for anyone and some for distinct groups. Registration is required. What are the Formation Series? Emmaus Formation Series meet on most Thursday nights from September to May from 7-8:30pm. Each series has 2-3 sessions on various topics in Catholic life. Each Series will include discussions, resources for further study, and tools to apply what we learn to our daily life. Registration is required. What are the Small Group Resources? This is the most loosely-defined of the Emmaus Ministry because you get to make the decisions about what, when and where! You come up with the group, the meeting place, meeting frequency, and the general topic you want to learn about. You can request information and guidance from us, and we’ll plug you into some great Catholic resources designed for groups like yours. For example, it could be a small group of friends doing a 3-part Bible Study, or a few families making a promise to meet and to pray during Lent. Applications are available upon request. What does it cost? For the Mini-Retreats: Admission is free! We’ll have a brown bag lunch, so please plan to bring your lunch with you. For the Formation Series: Admission is free! We'll have a free will offering to benefit OLV’s Isidore Fund for Burmese students. For the Small Group Resources: These are free! Again, you set up the plan and we’ll provide the resources. When does it begin? Formation Series and Mini-Retreats will begin in September. Small Groups Resources are always available.
